Feeding our Weekly Families
We have 18 families all in need that we rotate on a weekly bases. These families all have health issues and are very thankful for getting our help with healthy, natural and organic foods. Some of them have cancer, fibramolgia, arthritis, heart conditions and other illnesses that keep them from working full time and some not able to work at all. All of the families are single parent and a few grandparents that are raising their grandchildren.
Last week our family was a working single mom with a 10 yr. old daughter and 12 yr. old son. She struggles to give her children the food each day that they need. The daughter was so delighted when she saw the roasted chicken that she just hugged it and didn’t want to let go. The children and mom helped to unload my van and carry the groceries to their upstairs apartment. Mom and daughter saw the cereal and opened it to eat while unpacking the bags.
It saddens me when I deliver to these families that they are struggling to make their ends meet. Your donation, participation makes a difference to us as Emerald City Lights and especially to the families we deliver too. So to help us help our families won’t you think about a small donation, http://emeraldcitylights.com/donate/

I have known Patricia for probably 20 years and she has always had a generous heart and a wonderful attitude of helping others who were less fortunate. GO PAT, SAFE TRAVELS
Hi Jim, Thanks for the well wishes, it was a awesome journey one I will not forget anytime soon. Hope all is well with you. Coffee time soon.
Patricia, you rock! This is Crystal, the mom of 7 in Lake Stevens who you have so generously helped the past couple years. I have thought about you and your journey often. You are an amazing woman!
Love from the Olsen family
Crystal, Hi I do remember you and would love to hear how you are doing and the kids….Hope its been a nice summer for you. If you need some help with food please do not hesitate to give me a call. Take care.
We are all doing great. We switched to a plant-based diet so this Thanksgiving should be interesting but nutrition packed:-) I am not sure if you have my current phone number but this is my email. Thank you again for everything. My kids know you by first name when they see a jar in the kitchen that contained your jam or dried beans they say “That is one of the jars from Patricia”. I cannot believe (but I have no choice but to) that you cycled across the U.S. that is insane in a good way!!!!!! I will be meeting with a Lake Stevens food program coordinator on Monday to discuss healthier food options for the kids. I appreciate the fact that you are very mindful of giving healthy and organic to those you help out. I hope to talk to you again close to Thanksgiving. Thank you!
